Thanks for sharing this. I hadn't tried opening the door, but it makes sense as it seems to shut down the system. Is this step really necessary?

When I held down the start switch the SSN alert disappeared. When I let go of the switch it immediately came back on. The 'ready to drive' light did not come on. Does that match your experience?
