Lease a new 2018 FFE vs purchase a used 2014 FFE

Oh yeah, $21,000 for a used FFE is way too much money. Sounds like you will go the lease route, or buying a brand new one. However, if you do buy a used FFE, I'd go for a 12 or 13, for around $8,000. The car has just as much life left in it as the 14. Battery is the same size. You can fuss...

    2 phones

No that isn't weird behavior at all (disconnect phone number one, connect a second phone and the contacts from phone one go away). Think about it. Contacts are part of an individual phone, they aren't universal or added to the car. The phone that is active displays those contacts. Privacy. Now...

Just bought a Certified 2017 FFE

Absolutely yes, it probably did cost more to ship it than the car is worth. Except, you can't buy the car there. And there appears to be a fairly large community of FFE owners in Jordan. So it makes total sense from their side of the ocean. And it is probably a lot cheaper to buy the car in the...

Just bought a Certified 2017 FFE

Wow if I could read I'd be dangerous. I'm giving myself a dope slap right now..

Charging at 120V daily, max current for circuit breaker.

Triangles got the details exactly right. 120V at 12A (what the cord will pull) gets you 4 miles per hour of charging. Yes you can get a lot of miles overnight. With a 4 mile commute, you should plug the car in at night - it will keep the car happy. And you'll never run out of charge. If you...

Just bought a Certified 2017 FFE

From the people from Jordan that have posted here - they seem to really love the car. So I'm sure it has gone to a great new home. That's pretty darn cool seeing it get on a boat. Wonder if you will ever hear from it again once it sets sail.

    3 Years with my FFE

That is a cool list of things you'll miss. Oddly, you got them exactly right or I agree compared to a Model S (I can only guess the Model 3 will be the same). The one that stood out for me yeah - there is no brake coach, you have to learn how to be smooth in a Tesla. Here's one you won't...

FFE does not start charging if the battery is near full

That behavior squares with what I saw recently - no charging if the car is fully or very nearly fully charged. For some unknown reason I unplugged the car after it was fully charged, and then plugged it back in. Nothing happened, the EVSE didn't do it's usual click to tell me juice was...

Lost Charging Quadrant Not covered by Warranty

Yeah really. I don't see a part listing for the LED ring. Only the entire connector. I'd say, got a part number and a picture of that replaceable ring. And I'm serious - one quadrant is out on mine. Not that it is really important, if the repair is that easy, I'd do it.

Wanting to Lease a new '17 FFE

Battery degradation? You mean the 12V battery? Yeah you might have to worry about that, maybe if it went flat a couple of times. Unless they let the main battery discharge to nothing and left it there for a long time, you have nothing to worry about. You have nothing to worry about doubly...

    2020 Mach 1

Well that's a horrible name. Mach I belongs with a Mustang and nothing else, ever. To chuck such an iconic name on a stinking SUV - pitiful. Of course there are Mach I forums - they're all about Mustangs. And no, please don't start a forum for a not released or official car yet. A thread is...

    I still have the FFE

Ew yuck an Escape... oh that would make me upset. The Focus isn't so bad - at least it is familiar territory, even though it is a base model.

    GPS Intermittently Working

OK that works rather well. Fusions are sweet cars. Especially the Energi.

    I still have the FFE

That's a sad story. Although the good side of things, Ford stood by the warranty. What a pain if you had to pay for all that work. Here's hoping you get the battery - I don't think they rebuild the batteries, or that they can even do that. Cheaper to just put a new one in. By the way - which...

May 7 2018; End of North American Focus production

That's sad news. The FFE is a really great car. Ford has bigger ideas for electric (cough cough SUV, yuck).

    GPS Intermittently Working

I bet there's even more to it with a BEV - the dealership probably gets the full $7,500 tax credit. Just like leasing companies get the money. So yeah, they make a ton more money selling the FFE used than they do new. Although all that misses a big cost, the cost of carrying the inventory.

Exhaustive quantitative Power and Energy values at speed

Lost Charging Quadrant Not covered by Warranty

That's sad, but not unexpected. I guess the reason it isn't covered as an EV component - the part is listed as a Body / Fender component. Hard to figure out why it is $500 to replace. The port is $85 CHARGING PORT - FORD (CM5Z-10370-E) Now if that includes the LED lights or not is hard to...

    Bumper valance

Sorry, I don't have personal experience with that part. When you asked about getting parts or seeing a diagram, I thought of the parts department. Over the long haul, I really like AutoNation White Bear Lake (used to be Tousley Ford). Here is the exploded diagram for the front body panels...
