    New owner of 2017 FFE

You'll get there pcph. Once you start looking at the coaching numbers, you'll feel like you want to drive in the more zen zone. It is also way more comfortable to drive that way - smoother, better ride. And oh yeah range goes down fast above 60 MPH in all electric cars. The power required to...

Where is the 2017 Focus Electric???

Nice new car! The Unicorn has appeared. The car looks great.

    ST bumper swap?

Funny you mention that - studio460 did exactly that, installed the ST rear spoiler on the FFE. It is in here somewhere.

    Tires

Probably best to go through a winter with the stock tires. In four winters in Chicago, never got stuck once. How Chicago compares to Vancouver - sorry can't help you there. On the Focus ICE, we have a set of winter tires, the Michelin Ice 3 (or whatever the exact name). Hate those tires. They...

    New owner of 2017 FFE

If you are going to charge somewhere and don't like the area - just take an Uber to someplace else while the car charges. You don't really have to sit in your car or just be walking distance to something good.

    Tires

OK JJ - you asked specifically about those tires. I would pass on them. They are not low rolling resistance (LRR). They are high performance summer tires. They will stick like glue and reduce your range. They will also wear out a ton load faster than the Michelins. If the 320 wear number for...

FFE 2017 No modem serial number

Don't have a 2017, sorry. However, getting my ford mobile to work is frustrating. Ford makes you jump through a lot of hoops. You really have to wait the 24 hours after you confirm access in the car. Just be sure to do everything in the order listed and make sure you don't miss a step...

    New owner of 2017 FFE

Hey Jamez - first EV, you'll have to include a link or procedure for them to even begin to understand what a run down test is. What Jamez is trying to understand - how much real live usable battery power did Ford pack into the car? The previous FFE didn't have the full battery available - Ford...

Sanity Check - Daily trip 110km/70 Miles

Actually that's more important than leather. The cost can be anything from $500 to $2,000, depending on your garage and electricity situation. Be sure to count that in the equation.

    Tires

Funny you should ask, I just went through this. Don't just buy one new tire. The used FFE we bought had a brand new super cheap tire on it (the person that turned the car in for lease end probably had a flat and didn't want to spend money on all four tires, so they bought a super awful super...

Sanity Check - Daily trip 110km/70 Miles

Get leather, it is worth it. Don't bother with the tri-coat white, the pearl is nice, but it is way overpriced.

    ST bumper swap?

No idea about the fascia. I recall somebody asking if they could put the regular Focus fascia on and the answer was no. Something about parts not lining up correctly - maybe the headlights or hood. Even if the mount points are the same, I think there were some other differences. About your...

Sanity Check - Daily trip 110km/70 Miles

Yeah the roundtrip feels a little on the close side for roughly 100 mile range car. In the winter, for certain you would have to charge at work. In 8 hours you would likely have more than enough to get home. If the charger isn't available at work - you might have trouble getting home.

Where is the 2017 Focus Electric???

OK, so it was an inside job. I get it. Guess I'll just have to live with the videos JMueller linked to a while ago (maybe it was somebody else - those videos are so darn cool).

Source for Owner Manuals, Cords, and Spare Tire Kit

Au contraire. Common misunderstanding. They work on any size hole in the tread (they do not work in the sidewall - nothing works there). The Dynaplug website has some outstanding videos on how to use them. https://youtu.be/EjmPOrdd5b4 http://www.dynaplug.com/videos.html

Where is the 2017 Focus Electric???

That's so cool getting a factory tour. How did you arrange that? Does the Focus plant do public tours?

ON Ford Dealership unwilling to negotiate on Focus EV MSRP

Wow the IONIQ looks really nice. Seems like it is built around the Elantra - not a bad car by itself. Hyundai's approach looks similar to Ford - start with a nice car, and build up from there. They've taken a while to get in the game, maybe it will be a good car.

Where is the 2017 Focus Electric???

JMueller, I remember your stories of towing the car. Honestly, that's probably the most perfect RV car possible. Granted it is a little heavier than some of the small cars most people tow. But plugging in at your hook up site, having simple easy range to run errands. Love the picture. And you...

Where is the 2017 Focus Electric???

Just after writing that post, somebody on the Tesla forum linked to an article. Yeah, kind of exactly what I said. Chevy isn't helping anybody out with charging. A woman drove her Bolt 800 miles in California. She didn't have fun...

Where is the 2017 Focus Electric???

This is going a long ways off topic, my apologies. The discussion about over 200 mile range being a great thing reminded me of the trip I took this weekend. I'm afraid there will be a lot of very unhappy Bolt owners the first day they try to take their car any distance. They will be super happy...
