Just an update: Since the dealer fixed my SSN issue over a month ago, I have had no problems. The car is back to its excellent self.

After two SSN warnings on my FFE I took it to the dealer. They had it for several days and, after lots of communication with the engineers at Ford, said that they fixed some "ground issues". I admit I was skeptical, but a couple of weeks out the problem has not recurred so I'm hopeful they got it.
