I've done that on my regular ICE vehicles, swapping the motor, transmission and gear oils over to synthetic was good for a measurable 1-2 MPG bump. I don't really expect to get the same scale of benefit out of the FFE, but it would be amusing to try if it's just a quart or two.

Yes, I know our FFEs don't actually have a transmission, it's more a simple single speed differential gear set, and it's lubed with Ford Mercon LV ATF fluid. If I were to want to change over to some quality synthetic lube (Redline D6 ATF), anybody have an idea what quantity of fluid I would need?

FYI, installed the 2" EcoHitch on my 2016 FFE last weekend, fit no problems. Installation was pretty easy, even solo with a couple of jacks, took about 4 hours. 1 hour of that was to hit the hardware store to get 4 new bolts because Torklift sent the wrong size...I know 7/16th looks a lot...

To add to all the great suggestions above, I'll point out the FFE is a compliance car. Ford *MUST* sell yay many of them to balance the rest of their car sales to satisfy both Federal and CA rules. Because of this, if you are patient and keep your eyes open you will find opportunities to buy...

Any ideas on if there have been any changes to the FFE that would keep the EcoHitch from fitting a 2016? I talked to their support folks and they basically just shrugged and said they haven't tried it...

Drive up a Mountain burning 64% of your battery, then drive home burning just 1% more :lol:

Since the FFE is heavier the spring rates will be higher than the regular Focus, even the sway bars may be thicker, so don't assume that 'upgraded' Focus parts will match well with the FFE.
