After further review of some 2009 FFE data from Ford and Magna, it appears that the gear ratio(5.4:1) in the FFE is closer to the 3rd gear (not 2nd gear as I stated earlier) in a gas, manual transmission, 2012 Focus(1.45third gear X 3.82carrier reduction= 5.54:1). It appears that there may be a way that FFE can be made to accelerate slightly quicker from a stop than just letting off the brake pedal and then pushing down the accelerator pedal: I pulled up the parking brake. Then with the FFE in "D", let off the brake, you can feel the creep mode trying to move the car. Depress the accelerator slightly, then let off the parking brake and depress the accelerator to the floor simultaneously. I got some wheel spin and the car took off at what felt to be much quicker than normal.(I am running soft compound 18" Summer tires on my FFE) I haven't documented it with a Gtech to verify the 0-30mph time yet, but it sure feels quicker.
