Battery connections. Location

when I hand a drink to my 5 year old in the backseat, I get a little nervous he is going to spill a full coke and short the system. Is there a design that would help alleviate that fear? There's no doubt those cables will be subjected to a drenching by someone's kid at some point.

Both the high voltage and low voltage systems cannot be shorted by spilling a coke in the backseat. Rest easy, all the wiring is protected from moisture, and even a water leak in the passenger compartment won't short anything. Might eventually corrode connectors, but that's about it.

Submersion of vehicle in coke (a-cola) not recommended, but would make an AWESOME youtube video.
