I am taking possession of a used 2012 Frosted Glass FFE next week and finally got the VIN. My wife was told the car had "premium" speakers installed on this former "Ford Executive" car. This is not an option so I needed to find the build sheet and having the VIN and internet this would be easy. It was - I checked out Ford Focus Fanatics Forum and found http://www.etis.ford.comselected Vehicle and entered VIN.

I ended up with a four page build sheet but no mention of "premium" speaker so they must be after market if in fact the were changed at all. I am in Canada and build sheet shows (+) "CDN", Carpet Floor Mats, KMH/MPH Speedometer, With 9 Radio Speakers, Homelink, and ICE Feature Pack 28 among others.

The speaker question is crazy. I would be super amazed if somebody installed special upgrade speakers in your car. They are very hard to change. There is a very long thread on the Focus Fanatics website explaining how to make the changes (the mounts are all nonstandard - it isn't like you just unscrew a 6 x 9 speaker and put in a new one). You probably have the standard speakers that may or may not be made by Sony. I've had 2 FFE's, 2013 and 2014. The 2013 had the world's worst speakers in it. The 2014 has very good speakers. There was no option checked for upgraded sound - it was the same standard in both cars. The difference was huge.
