I have only owned my car for a couple months now and I notice that the AC will only ding my range by about 3 miles, but I was wondering what the heater will ding my range by?

The drop in miles estimate varies for me. Have not kept notes, but think it goes down by roughly 10% if I turn on the AC, and the air heater is a bit worse than that ... so I tend to use the seat heater(s) more than the air heater, in winter.

If you go to the custom display in My View that shows where the power is going, you will see that the heater can use over 5 kW. The air conditioner is usually much lower, but it can be similarly high if it's working hard

The heater almost always exceeds 5 kW whenever it turns on (as can be seen on the aforementioned energy usage display).

On the other hand, when the A/C has mostly cooled the cabin, its energy usage seems to drop to 1 kW (and usually well below) to maintain.
