Anyone know if the new CarPlay EV features that Apple announced (and had partnered with Ford with) will work with Sync 3, or are going to require Sync 4 (Mach E) ?
General CarPlay will continue working, but features like CarKey are only going to be in future vehicles since that actually requires Apple and the car manufacturer to build out a system that is built into the car.
Apple mentioned there would be EV features in CarPlay with iOS 14 (knowing available range of the car, locating charging stations, etc). I was curious if those features would work with Sync 3, or would require Sync 4.
Apple or Ford has not released what supported vehicles will be included in the apple maps EV routing update. Ford is responsible for providing Apple with information in regards to vehicle range and efficiency, so we may only see EV routing for the Mach E.
