I was at my dealer the other day, and my friend in service told me that Ford factory representatives were giving much of their staff training in selling hybrids, PHEVs, and EVs. As part of the training, they were given booklets explaining the differences between the three types of cars, the advantages over ICE cars, and how to help a customer select the best type for his needs.
Interestingly, the FFE was given equal billing to the hybrids and PHEVs, not marginalized, and described as very good for those with suitable driving needs, and the benefits of no gas, ever, of substantially reduced maintenance, etc. were described.
All in all, it seemed to me a genuine effort on Ford's part to train salespeople to actually sell these cars, FFE included.
