Hi Guys...

Just taken ownership of a new 2014 FFE and am so far liking it...apart from the fact that it's in the service department due to the fact that the heater was producing ZERO heat....but anyway!!

I have a quick question that I hope someone will be able to answer here...Is there a maximum capacity for a USB memory stick plugged into the media hub?

Thanks in advance.

The user guide doesn't mention any maximum drive size:

Wow while googling around for info on this (which I still haven't found a maximum for) I did find what CPU is in the MFT module:

Do you have a size in mind you want to use? (If you already have it I would say to try it.). There have been reports, though, that MFT will slow down considerably if you plug a flash drive with a large amount of music on it in (not sure what "large" means but I'm thinking > 50GB or so).

Thanks for the info!

I only have an 8GB drive right now but my iTunes directory has 108GB....so I was thinking of going the whole way and getting a 128GB stick.

I was worried that it might be slower with larger drives though!

Holy crap! What's on your playlist??? That's impressive.
Really? Well, it's my entire music collection, about 3500 tracks, and totals about 40-50GB. I encode everything at a pretty high bitrate... individual .mp3 file sizes average about 12MB.
