Car is a 2014 Ford Focus Electric has 77k miles and 23kwh battery pack.

We live in the desert southwest. Summer temps 105 plus. Been having 110* for days weeks in summer. Today 9/29/24 temp is 107* Questions are: on the display in the car it displays a message to the effect of. It's hot outside plug in car when not in use.. well it is always hot here, should I leave the car plugged in to the level 1 charger or into a level 2 type charger. ALL THE TIME in summer?

Next question goes in line with first. As I leave in the summer and will be parking the ffe long term 4 months in the dead of summer June July Aug Sept. How should I store it. Plugged in all the time , disconnect the 12 volt battery. How to store when outside in summer heat to sum it up. Thanks

There are long term storage guidelines I've read somewhere, wish I could recall. I don't believe it should be stored fully charged by may not make a huge difference. I would recommend parking it somewhere cooler if you can. I'd also recommend leaving 12V connected with a battery tender.

As for plugging in, yes, you want to plug it into L2 whenever you can. L1 will not allow the AC compressor to run during charging - if it did it would pull more power than the cord could supply. I've been running mine here in Phoenix for about 8 years now and I have that message more than half of the year. It's a free group chat system where folks can start their own "servers". Current popular choice for different online communities. I set up a server that could be joined by users here. Doesn't have a lot of activity but when conversation needs to be more real time, it's invaluable.
