I have a 2013 Focus Electric that needs a DM5Z-14G229-C or DM5Z-19A387-C Telematics control unit for TSB 16-0024.

The dealership is being told the part is not available. I haven't got any love from the factory representative either. LKQ has been unable to locate the part from a wreck.

Has anyone been able to find an alternative or has one they are willing to part with?

it’s always hard when parts go out of circulation. If you can’t locate an exact match, consider reaching out to a third-party supplier that specializes in custom automotive electronics. Companies like Module Repair Pro sometimes offer repairs or rebuilds for modules that are no longer available. It might cost a bit more, but it could be your best bet for keeping your Focus on the road!

Repair/rebuild of a 2013 TCU won't help. It's a 3G modem that can't connect to cell networks in the US anymore. The new app also requires a specific SIM in the TCU - they don't connect to the Internet at large, they have a data account that drops the device on a dedicated VPN that accesses the app back end. If another TCU isn't a drop in replacement you're out of luck.

This is what I installed in my 2016.
When I ordered it I was required to give them my VIN and they programed it to my car so it shows up as stock.
HS7T-14G370-GFD
EBAY about $200
Just make sure that any seller you find will program it to your vehicle.
