    Battery Backup Project

Hate to echo other people's opinions, but: Square peg, round hole here. The FFE - however great for commuting and city work - is clearly not a great fit for you. A 2017 Volt would be much more appropriate given what you've mentioned so far. Yes, taking a hit on the money may be an issue, but...

End of lease? What are you doing?

Yikes. Where/how have you seen this? How can one tell (other than a draw-down test)

    New Recall - Differential Assembly

Interesting way of putting it. I have had this happen to me a number of times. I shift into reverse (to go down my driveway) and no power steering or motor. Stop, but in park and restart the car has worked a few times so far. It's as if we need an audible "Vrooom" noise to tell us the motor is...

    2016 FFE Review on CleanTechnica

And if possible, get a draw down test result first to know the capacity of the battery. Good luck!

    2016 FFE Review on CleanTechnica

Perhaps I'm saying it wrong In your nav, Set an ending point "B" (with charging) that's perhaps 1/2 way to another point "A" to travel to that's further than the end charge point "B" ( you'll "swing back" after arriving at "A") When you are travelling - the computer will tell you the...

    2016 FFE Review on CleanTechnica

No, I wrote that back in September. I still haven't figured out how it calculates the range - but it's not Road or as the crow flies. If you set a point further than your charge point, it calculates to the charge point - not the "loop" distance.

    2016 FFE Review on CleanTechnica

Shameless cross-post... CleanTechnica picked up my 2016 FFE review: https://cleantechnica.com/2016/12/01/ford-focus-electric-review-extreme-depth/ Take a look, let me know what you'd like to know about the 2017 - I'll do what I can to get that info for you.

Ford Focus 2017 MY now online

I suppose that's a question for your local electric certified Ford dealer. They'll be rolling (in small numbers) up here in December.

Ford Focus 2017 MY now online

I've confirmed with Ford Canada. 35kWh is a typo and they're working on getting it fixed.

Ford Focus 2017 MY now online

Where did you see 35kWh? I'm seeing 33.5kWh (found under "packages" tab http://www.ford.com/cars/focus/trim/electric/) "Equipment Group 500A • 107kW electric motor • 33.5 kWh Liquid-Cooled Lithium Ion battery • Charge Port with LED State-of-Charge Indicator • SYNC® 3" EDIT/UPDATE: Lol. looks...

Ford Focus 2017 MY now online

I have a deposit already down on the first one to arrive in Canada. It should have been built this week or so, and deliver will be second week of December (or so). It's red and they'll be using it as the photo/media car. I haven't decided if I'm buying it yet, but I have first right of refusal...

Battery deplate to 14.2 Kwh after Ford rebuild it

I don't think anything is wrong with your math. Depending on driving conditions and traffic, you can exceed the "standard" 120kms/charge. Couple of things to check: Pay attention to your "Average Economy" used on your trips. A 215Wh/km is not so good, and you won't be able to get much range...

Battery deplate to 14.2 Kwh after Ford rebuild it

I don't know if I should praise your positive outlook or remain disgruntled with my previous experiences with other manufacturers (albeit in ICE realms). I attempted to protect myself as much as I could from the stories we've seen posted here about 1 month+ loss of the car due to battery...

Battery deplate to 14.2 Kwh after Ford rebuild it

Yes (emphasis mine): http://www.nissan.ca/en/electric-cars/leaf/charging-range/battery/ "Lithium-ion Battery Gradual Capacity Loss: In addition to the Lithium-ion Battery Coverage for defects in materials or workmanship (96 months/160,000 kilometers), the Nissan LEAF® Lithium-ion battery is...

Battery deplate to 14.2 Kwh after Ford rebuild it

Great to hear there was an improvement! Thanks for keeping us updated. Emphasis mine Ford is under no obligation to do so. They don't have to do anything if the battery still works, they don't even have to give you back a battery that's new. This is an important thing to make people aware of...

Battery deplate to 14.2 Kwh after Ford rebuild it

OMG I'm so sorry to hear this. What year is the car? Unfortunately this is EXACTLY what I was concerned about with Ford, them not caring about the BEV's and their lack of a battery degradation warranty. It's polar for them: "Does it work?" Yes/No. You have a battery that works now. They don't...

For more rear storage, ditch the inserts...both of them.

Can you show us pics of it installed?

    New wheels

Anyone know the weight of the OEM wheels? perhaps some nice 17lb OZ's may be in order.

    New wheels

WOW! They make that much of a difference? Anyone find winter LRR rubber?
