    LED's in Headlamps

I believe Wine ( https://www.winehq.org/ ) is available for MacOS - it might be worth a try. On my Linux box, focccus will at least start up and run on top of the Wine compatibility layer but I haven't actually tried to connect to my car and edit settings.

    battery Degradation over 5 years?

Some more info would be useful. What was the ambient temperature like? What kind of driving (slow/urban; fast/hwy) was done during the 30 mile trip? Was the ~40 mile range estimate with climate control on or off? OEM tires? Off the top of my head, for a car that was probably being driven...

Diesel Parking heater to replace electric heater.

Just a crazy thought..... Maybe steal the heat storage block and coolant pump out of one of these http://www.steffes.com/electric-thermal-storage/room-units/ and connect it to the FFEs heater core. Feed the heating elements off of 120v grid electricity overnight. Run the coolant pump via the...

    Tesla Adaptor

You didn't say whether the free chargers were DC "Superchargers" or AC "Destination chargers." I don't think there are any products that will convert Tesla DC to CCS. However, the Tesla to J1772 adapters should work fine for AC charging.

    EMF magnetic radiation

These meters are typically measuring AC emf, which in the FFE would be generated by the motor and AC inverter at the front end of the car. In any case, data concerning deleterious health effects of weak emf are equivocal at best. If it turns out that there are small increases in e.g. cancer...

    Tires

I purchased my 2014 FFE in Jun 2016 with ~17.5k miles on what looked like the original tires with reasonable remaining tread (didn't measure precisely and don't remember the numbers now, but two had significantly more wear - probably spent >10k miles in front). Rotated at ~22k. @~24k, sustained...

    Thanks! I'll check it out.

    Bumper valance

The front passenger side bumper valance on my 2014FFE came off. The part seems to still be relatively intact. I assume this can be popped back on somehow and fastened with push pins or the like without further disassembly of the front end? Any idea what size/type of fasteners to use and where...

    Cheap L2 chargers on ebay

Are you sure this thing has dual-voltage capability? If so, it will most likely still draw 16 amps and require a 20 amp/120v circuit/outlet.

    Cheap L2 chargers on ebay

True, that could be a concern, especially if you can't even tell if the individual components are UL listed. Although eBay doesn't necessarily equal junk - you can find UL listed EVSEs on eBay. Something similar to the Duosida that is apparently UL listed...

    Cheap L2 chargers on ebay

It should charge about 2.7 X faster. Stock L1: 120V x 12A = 1440 Watts, Duosida L2: 240V x 16A = 3840 Watts This might still limit the amount of cabin pre-conditioning you can do from grid electricity (heater can draw over 5kw) but has the advantage of being quite portable.

Which plug to use 240 or 120

As others have pointed out out L2 (240v) will be a bit more efficient. Under "other factors" I would say: 1) Having L2 charging available might be handy in an emergency if you need to top up quickly. 2) It looks like you're in NY? The cabin heater is a real energy hog. Cabin pre-heating from...

    Any Programable EVSE

That certainly is a nice, and quite attractive, EVSE. However, as far as I can tell, it will only do part of what the OP wants. Charge scheduling would not be a problem but it looks like the max current draw is NOT adjustable. On OpenEVSE units, max current is adjustable via software in 2 amp...

Nissan Leaf 2018 - New Model

I'm pretty sure that the one-pedal mode is user selectable and not mandatory. “With the flip of a switch, the technology turns your accelerator into an e-Pedal, allowing drivers to accelerate, decelerate and stop using just the e-Pedal*. e-Pedal technology is the world’s first one-pedal...

    Any Programable EVSE

Some OpenEVSE equipment would have this capability. Current firmware has a remote API that can be accessed via WiFi (if installed). There is a very basic built-in web interface that allows issuing commands to the EVSE (start/stop, charge rate etc.) and I believe there is some gui development...

12V current draw when car is off?

I may not be reading all the specs correctly ( https://cdn.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Tools/MooshimeterManualRev1.pdf ) but it looks like it MIGHT be able to indirectly measure current down in that range with the type of set up they used in the video (ground cable as external shunt). They claim a...

12V current draw when car is off?

Perhaps one of these little guys might help with diagnosis: https://moosh.im/mooshimeter/ It's a very compact bluetooth multimeter that could be mounted in the car for data logging (also has a microSD slot IIRC) For current measurements, you could plug in an external transducer ( e.g...

HVAC - lower the power drain or disable the heater ?

There should be a high voltage fuse for the PTC heater. I wonder if anyone has experimented with removing it? The FFE probably has a temp sensor like the one mentioned in the Leaf forum so I imagine methods 1 and 2 could be adapted if the appropriate wire/connector can be identified. Method 3...

    TCU Replacement?

Since the modem replacement has been part of this saga, I doubt there's been an opportunity to go through the app's authorization procedure. I too would be concerned about the condition of the 12v at this point. If it has degraded more since you handed it over to the dealership, it might be...
