Any Programable EVSE

Any idea which EVSE unit is program-able or mobile controllable on time and charge rate ?
(Honestly I couldn't get my FFE value charge to work - it always charge immediately after plug in - I tried many different ways.)

I want to have some sort of control remotely on start and stop time of my charge (e.g. 3AM start and 3 hr to stop at 6AM.) to avoid over charge.
And I also want to control the rate, I want slow charge rather than typical L2 charge rate. I understand Jxxxx protocol use pulse width to tell car how much it can draw, so it should be easy.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find such product now.

Can't get Ford to fix the issue? Mine was resolved by replacing the TCU.

The simple solution is to use a timer on the outlet your EVSE is plugged into or build your own EVSE with a timer. If you want remote control of charging time and current then I hope you're an EE because you will have to build and develop this yourself. There are no products on the market that can do that.

Huh, I though all the juice plug does is record the kWh put into your car and upload it's status using your wifi to emotorwerks website for you to view. Guess I was wrong... Interesting....

Some OpenEVSE equipment would have this capability. Current firmware has a remote API that can be accessed via WiFi (if installed). There is a very basic built-in web interface that allows issuing commands to the EVSE (start/stop, charge rate etc.) and I believe there is some gui development going on. I haven't played with it much but I can control the EVSE state and charge rate from a phone within WiFi range. I'm sure you could also set it up with a home network that you could access remotely. My unit doesn't have the real-time clock circuitry required for advanced scheduling but, on EVSEs with that capability, I believe those commands are also enabled in the remote API.

This unit should have all the necessary capabilities. You could also save a bit by ordering a kit instead and assembling it yourself.

That certainly is a nice, and quite attractive, EVSE. However, as far as I can tell, it will only do part of what the OP wants. Charge scheduling would not be a problem but it looks like the max current draw is NOT adjustable. On OpenEVSE units, max current is adjustable via software in 2 amp increments and this can be done remotely via wifi on appropriately equipped units. JuiceBox units have similar capability with more polished remote access/apps etc. At least the old ones did - I wonder if UL listing required limiting the adjustability of max current?
