I found another news source reporting that the Ford Focus Electric has a 3 yr, 36,000 mile warranty on the whole vehicle, with a five-year 60,000 mile powertrain warranty and an 8-year, 100,000 mile warranty on the Focus Electric battery pack.
I hadn't really thought about that, but I guess it wouldn't make sense to take cooling air from under the focus electric up and around the battery pack. So - there must be a radiator that's under the hood.
It's funny, and actually quite confusing the variety of reviews that people post of the Ford Focus Electric. It almost seems like some people are trying to find faults, while others are clearly wanting to make sure Ford is happy with their review so that they'll be invited to more vehicle first...

Although the standard Ford Focus comes with a whole host of options, being an electric vehicle paints some of those options into a corner.
For example, there is no options on wheels or tires, because Ford wants all Focus Electric vehicles to come equipped with low rolling resistance tires and...
Although not specifically about the money the Ford Focus Electric can save you, here's an interesting chart comparing the Nissan Leaf SV, the more expensive Lead SL and the Ford Focus Electric.
When Ford first announced the Ford Focus Electric they said it would be around $30K which started a lot of buzz on the internet. Now that we can pre-order them, they are almost $40K. At this price it's slightly better numbers aren't worth the thousands extra over the Nissan Leaf in my opinion...
Back in August of 2011 on this Ford Focus Electric forum, a user had posted a message from the Electrified Vehicles Marketing Manager at Ford stating that the late 2011 rollout of the Ford Focus Electric would happen only in the New York, New Jersey and California markets, and the rest of the...
As time grows nearer to Ford's end of 2011 release of the Ford Focus Electric in some parts of the country, I am definitely getting anxious to see it and hear some hard facts about it!
If the Ford Focus Electric doesn't pan out I had always thought of going to a luxury electric vehicle like the...
My guess is production Ford Focus Electric, or at least closer to a production Ford Focus Electric than a prototype Ford Focus Electric.
Remember the prototypes? The bright orange Ford Focus Electric's with the old style grill/body? This is clearly the new Focus model - perhaps just a gasoline...
Video worked for me. Did you try restarting?
Let me save you some time, don't bother watching it. It doesn't tell you anything you won't already know - if you've been reading on the Ford Focus Electric forum here, then there's no new info.
If this truly is what is required to plug in the Nissan Leaf, then the ability to plug in the Ford Focus Electric all on it's own should be a huge selling point!
1 technician in orange jumpsuit to plug in the car, 1 technician in orange jumpsuit supervising. Check!
Here's a graphic of the most Electric Vehicle ready cities across the country, borrowed from treehugger.com
It's just a waiting game until the Ford Focus Electric is available in many of the cities...
It's funny how Ford thinks this is News - that they have a battery heater to keep the battery packs warm. I think I've seen this elsewhere on this Ford Focus Electric Forum?
Chevy Volt has a heater on their batteries too. Nissan's Leaf doesn't heat the batteries, but has been up front about...
I find it interesting and also disappointing that there are so many 'TBD' on that Focus electric fact sheet. Granted, Ford doesn't have specs on the Focus Electric's acceleration or braking distance yet (or maybe jsut hasn't done the tests).
Shouldn't they know cargo and passenger space by now...
Nicely worded. That pretty much sums it all up... although at first we have to change it at each tailpipe (by going electric) and then in the future it will make for easier changes at the central power sources.
I definitely wouldn't pay to lease the battery - I know that there's know way to know if the Ford Focus Electric battery will be any good in 5 years, but in 5 years there will be such better technology anyway. To pay more over 5 years I guess would help someone spread the cost of the EV purchase...
Everyone is waiting to hear on what the Ford Focus Electric Price will be, but do you have any guesses?
Will it be comparable to the Leaf?
Or will the Ford Focus Electric car be able to blow the Leaf out of the water because it's using an existing chassis instead of rebuilding from the ground...
Do you think this is really much of an advantage? Other than making it a little easier for people to access the charger, couldn't they just have sold them through the dealerships?
They are having the geek squad install the EV chargers but I thought they were computer guys - now I'm trusting...
Wow, I really like the look of the Focus - it's nice to finely see it in motion. The stills and all the teaser shots didn't do the Focus EV any justice!
