Exhaust smells in cabin.

Hey guys, I've been getting pretty noticeable exhaust smells in the cabin when I have the HVAC running. It's especially noticeable when I'm behind big diesel box trucks, but I've also had it happen with pickups. I know exhaust smells in cars are normal and I've had it happen occasionally in previous cars, but these smells are so strong its like almost I'm driving with my windows open. Has anyone else noticed this? Are the factory cabin air filters just garbage or is there another issue with the design of the car?

Turn on recirculate if you don't want outside air. The cabin filters are just particle FILTERS, not gas mask canisters.

Might it be that you're just not used to car exhaust fumes anymore?

It might sound silly, but you might be de-desensitized now. Think of how it feels when you drive an ICE car now...you feel the vibration, hear the noise, etc.
