I was on Fords Web site today and couldn't believe how cheap the FFE was marked down. The price was marked down to $20995 for a full electric. Does this price include $7500 Federal tax credit. The bad news is that this price is good until Jan 5, 2015. You fence sitters this is something you should really check out before it is to late.

Yes but DO they have any available? I tried a quick search and there was nothing...I left my contract info in case.

If you build and price one there is a little 'i' next to the $20,995 price. Clicking on the 'i' shows this:
Base Price: S1$29,170
+ Options: S4$0
+ Destination: $825
= Subtotal $29,995
- Incentives S3$9,000
= Net Price: S5$20,995
Program #50278: Take new retail delivery from dealer stock by 01/05/2015. Not all Focus Electric models may qualify. See dealer for residency restrictions and complete details.
Amount: $9,000, Offer Valid: 10/14/2014-1/5/2015
So you only have until Monday to take advantage of that $9,000 incentive.

This looks like it doesn't include the $7500 Fed and is a cash payment to try to sell out the 2014 models (e.g. a fire sale to make room for the 2015's when they start shipping).

But hurry..(I know you in CA the dealers are open on Sunday so go find one...if there are any).

It wouldn't. The federal tax rebate is always only for the owner of a new vehicle (e.g., whoever originally purchases it). Dealers (or their leasing agents) can only claim the credit when leasing a vehicle (since they buy it in that case, in order to lease it) but never when selling one new.

So, take the $20,995 net price and subtract $7,500 for the federal credit. And, if in California (for example) subtract another $2,500 for the state rebate.

In the end, that's a brand new FFE for $10,995. Amazing. Keep the car for a few years and it may very well pay for itself in gasoline savings.

I'm glad that I've been able to enjoy my FFE for two years already, but am very envious of this pricing.

The fine print for that discount is:

Amount: $10,000, Offer Valid: 10/14/2014-1/5/2015

I bought my FFE on 10/31/2014 but didn't get the $10,000 discount.

There are no 2014s in Hawaii so this price is moot unless folks here want to ship a car.

What a deal though! That's even cheaper than our 2012 Mitsubishi IMiev.

Why not?
$10K incentive is for a lease only. Click on the tab for "Finance", it will show a $4K incentive instead for purchases. Lease incentive is more since it includes some (most) of the $7.5K Fed tax incentive that Ford Credit gets as the lessor.

Ah.. this entire thread (titled "FFE on sale") I thought people were talking about purchasing an FFE.

Yes, most of the time, lease incentives reflect some or all of the $7,500 tax credit that can be taken by the lessor.

According to the Ford website, Sunrise Ford in North Hollywood has a white FFE with leather, $26,990 after $4000 incentive.

But....

I imagine one could get an additional $2k or $3k dealer discount

There's an additional $1k if you are trading in a car or ending a lease

There's $7.5K in federal and $2.5K in California $$$

So I think it might be possible to get the car for something like $14-$15K out of pocket with 6 year 0% financing.

I think there has been a misunderstanding here about promotions and availability.

First, the available Ford purchase incentives right now (until Jan 5) on a 2014 FFE are $4K cash rebate + $1K trade-in assistance (requires you to trade in a 1995 or newer vehicle) and 5-year 0% financing. If you want 6-year financing, you give up the cash rebates (not a good deal). In addition, in CA you get an additional $2500 rebate, and if you are in the San Joaquin Valley you may be getting a $3K rebate (I don't know about this specifically because it didn't apply to me--has anyone gotten this? Is it in addition to the $2500 from CA?). Other states may have different rebate programs.

I don't know where the $9K figure comes from, but the #50278 program listed is a Red Carpet Lease program. That gets you $10K "lease cash" (which includes the $7500 federal tax credit, but not state rebates which you may still get), $1K trade in assistance and so forth.

The real issue is that there aren't any. I see two FFEs here in CA, and the two dealers that have them are holding out for $5K over MSRP, which is why they still have them. There aren't likely to be any dealer discounts at this point, since the rebate on the 2015 models has dropped to $2K, but I think those dealers made a mistake by not selling them for MSRP last month when they could have. Ironically, one of the holdout dealers is the same one that sold us ours for $1500 below invoice...

When I put in my zipcode (Hawaii), I get $10,000 in incentives for a purchase. I didn't get the $10,000 but there is a note that says not all Ford Focus Electric models apply. Maybe mine didn't. They don't sit long on Hawaii lots so that makes sense. See pics below:

That sounds like some standard "butt-covering" disclaimer that probably appears no matter what the offer is.

The disclaimer doesn't really make sense for the FFE since, AFAIK, there's only one model of the Focus Electric. Sure, there are options for paint and seating, but these are not model differences.

A model difference would be something like an entirely different trim level, or a different-sized motor or battery capacity, which are of course currently not offered for the FFE.

I agree. The one we bought was within these dates on the $10K incentive. Though at the time the Website didn't show the $10K incentive. It was $6K or something like that. Wonder why they back dated that amount to a time when that number wasn't even available.

If they had $20K FFEs in Hawaii, I would call some friends to jump on that deal!

I'm pretty sure that the $9000 shown on the Ford website includes the full $7500 tax credit. While not all buyers will qualify for the full $7500 credit and while it doesn't happen on the day of purchase, it seems that Ford often advertises the EVs (FFE & Energi models) with the "effective" price after the tax credit.

@Olagon

If you run that slider in the little pop-up box (the one you are pointing at) you'll see the it states "RCL Customer Cash". It is an offer for capital cost reduction for a lease, and a resultant net capitalized cost of $19,995. Ford Motor Credit gets the $7500 federal credit. I'm sure this is a website design oversight that causes it to be misleading, not some new program. I have noticed that our local Nissan dealer advertises cars the same way--for a price that you can't walk in an buy it at--because they are advertising a lease net capital cost, not a buy price.

In any case it is moot--there aren't any left!

Ahh! I looked it up and it means Red Carpet Lease. Boy that is so confusing!
