I live in an area where the only charger is my house. I know it may seem like a silly question, but.... How do I add my address to the "Charging POI"? I'd like to be able to see how some of the energy displays work. Because I live so far away from public chargers, my "Status" is always in the negative. By the way, I use my FFE to commute to and from work about 20 miles per day. Thanks

Status does not reflect the distance to chargers in the area.

Status is the difference between the estimated range when you started the car (noted as budget on the dash) and the current estimated range as shown on top of the battery.

When you start the car it records the current estimated range as the budget. When driving the budget will decrease with the odometer while the estimated range on the battery (often called the guess o meter) will be continuously recalculated based on the remaining battery and your current driving style and/or terrain.

The difference between those two values is status.

You don't need to program in a charge station to make use of the displays. In addition you can always just program in a destination in the navigation system and tell it you'll be charging there (regardless of if you are or not going to charge--in fact I recommend always answering Yes to that question because the resulting nav displays are much more useful).

Shameless plug: check out my blog in my signature for a bunch more info...

@Zap: In addition to jmueller's excellent blog, I have also posted about the workings of the "status" and "surplus" numbers previously in these forums, here.
