13 Mths and 14Kmi so far, My thoughts to those considering

I think top speed is very relevant to everyday driving. What if the top speed of the FFE were restricted to 70mph, or even 80mph, instead of 85mph? For me, I would have gotten something else. For some of us on LA freeways that use the carpool lanes, the top speed of the FFE can be impeding at...

Leasing in San Francisco Bay Area

I suggest using the payment estimator in Ford's 2015 Focus Build and Price web page: http://bp3.ford.com/2015-Ford-Focus#/Technology/ You have to go through at least the first few steps of the build process to get to a button that takes you to the payment estimator. Using that, I come up with...

    FFE easier to skid?

Doesn't happen when already at speed going through a turn... for me it always scrubs and sometimes chirps at a low speed when taking off from a dead stop while the steering wheel is cranked at least a little. Any surface irregularity in that situation pretty much causes the inside tire to chirp...

just ordered 2015 model I have a few questions.

So you got a corporate discount? Was it the X-plan?

So Cal Edison Time-Of-Use Rate Plan changes

For those that are on the SCE TOU-D-EV plan and are not aware of the rate plan changes, you might want to find out which rate plan they're switching you to after TOU-D-EV is retired at the end of the month. I did so and found out that they were going to automatically switch me to a TOU-D-A...

    Lease Transfer

Wow, that's a pretty good deal; I put a blurb out on my weekly EV lease deal page. Hope it helps: http://ev-vin.blogspot.com/2014/04/current-36-month-lease-offers-for.html Good luck!

Did my FFE somehow keep driving past 0 miles range??

Glad to hear you made it home, douglas685! I wasn't so lucky... http://ev-vin.blogspot.com/2013/10/charge-depleted.html I went about a mile or so after getting the "Charge Depleted" popup, on a slight uphill.

    20A Level 2 vs 32A Level 2

Did they not offer y'all two cards when you signed up? When I signed up a couple of years ago, chargepoint gave me two cards - one keychain-sized which I used immediately, and one credit card. The keychain one delaminated and stopped working last month, so now I'm using the credit card.

    Stop Safely Now Warning

My turn! I guess it was a matter of time, since I never did get that software update. Two years and 26,250 miles have flown by, apparently my luck has run out. Got the SSN this morning on the way to work, stop-and-go traffic in the HOV lane. Here's the sequence of events: 1. Coasting at...

    VW E-Golf lacks liquid cooling

Are you talking about Rydell in Los Angeles? Rydell is a Chevy dealer. Sounds to me like you're talking about a Volt, not e-Golf. From what I can tell, the e-Golf doesn't have an option package called "Safety Package 1", but the Volt does. Anyway, if it's a 2015 Volt, sounds like you got a...

    2015 Lease price

Lease and finance numbers for the 2015 FFE through the build and price link: http://bp3.ford.com/2015-Ford-Focus#/Technology/ I plugged in 3-years, 12K miles, and $0 down, got $244/mo+tax, with $889 due at signing. That's about $2/mo less than the outgoing 2014 lease deal. Thanks for the...

    Car shipping recommendations????

There are a couple of shippers listed on a gm-Volt FAQ that are recommended by a dealer that seems to have a lot if out-of-town customers, in case you want to get a few quotes: http://gm-volt.com/forum/showthread.php?112154-F-A-Q-Out-of-State-Shoppers-Rydell

    FFE on sale.

$10K incentive is for a lease only. Click on the tab for "Finance", it will show a $4K incentive instead for purchases. Lease incentive is more since it includes some (most) of the $7.5K Fed tax incentive that Ford Credit gets as the lessor.

2015 FFE changes.....will they kill the electric car?

Might be fine to say here, but I'd suggest not stating that on a LEAF forum: http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1421 According to that crowd, the EV-12 was a LEAF platform with a Versa body. Some older literature on the Nissan Global website also claims that the LEAF's platform...

    Understanding Charge Point charging stations.

Yeah, hat is optional, at least here in So Cal... Blue blazer is not a hard and fast requirement either. Jeffand - been using chargepoint every workday for almost 2 years, and never noticed the some of the finer details that you pointed out, particularly the "per port" vs "shared" indication...

    Charging network decay

Plugshare shows seven different EVSE sites across the CSUN campus - one Chargepoint, the rest are Clipper Creek units. All are free, but a parking permit is required. The Chargepoint EVSE always had a free charge port whenever I visited the campus, but the CC closest to the admin bldg was always...

    Blogs

Thanks hybridbear! I didn't explicitly ask them to tow the ICE, but when I asked if my RAV4 was at risk of being towed, she said that they really can't tow anyone from the parking structure because there's no room to do so. Based on that, I'm guessing that they wouldn't be able to clear an ICEd...

http://ev-vin.blogspot.com/2014/11/return-to-magic-kingdom.html This one is about our second trip to Disneyland in an EV, and dealing with being ICEd when we got there. Took the trip in the RAV4 EV, so the post isn't really FFE-related, except that it was the first time I actually talked to...

    Top Plug in EV manufactures

Hopefully this entices more PHEV manufacturers to equip their products with 6.6kW chargers. Many of us have to pay by the hour to charge at work and for me at $3/gal it's cheaper to use gas on the way home from work when I take the Volt. On the plus side, there should be much less competition...

Cheaper to use ChargePoint than charge at home
