240v on 30amp dryer outlet

Hello everyone, I'm considering getting a FFE and have a question about the 240v chargers.

I have a dryer outlet in my laundry room which adjoins the garage (how convenient), but I know its only a 30amp outlet, and I know that I won't be able to run 30amp on it due to 80% constant load restriction. However, which chargers allow charging at 24amp (80% of 30amp)? Do you guys recommend the Bosch Powermax or Schneider charger, or some other charger?

If this is possible, this would make my ev charger install a piece of cake. I would just buy a 10' 30amp dryer cable off amazon and mount the charger with the dryer cable hooked up to it, correct?

Is this dryer circuit in use by your dryer already, or are you using gas for your dryer? If the dryer is using the circuit, I wouldn't do this unless it's your last option. It will work fine if you only run one at a time, but if you have to plug and unplug every time it is going to get old, fast. Plus, you'll accelerate wear on that outlet. If at all possible, I would just run the additional circuit.

That being said, if you are dead set on using the outlet, I would suggest installing a switch between the two. Leave your dryer plugged in, but install a double throw switch to power either the dryer or the EVSE. That way, you don't have to worry about plugging and unplugging all the time.

Sorry, should have specified, I have a gas dryer which runs on the 110v/120v outlet. The 240v isn't used for anything. Do all chargers allow you specify the amperage you would like to charge at? Can I set any charger to charge at 24amp?

Not all chargers let you specify the amperage, in fact most of them don't.

I use the JuiceBox, and was able to set it for my circuit (40A).

I dig my juice box a lot, I use it off our dryer outlet at about 24 amps but disconnected it when I went out to the track recently and was able to max it out. It was nice to be able to have that option.
