It seems like almost every day there's a press release from some city that's installing charging stations for the Ford Focus Electric.

Today it's Bradenton, Florida that's installing charging stations to prepare for coming electric vehicles. While there is some skepticism about the usefulness or necessity of the charging stations, the city wants to be welcoming to the Ford Focus Electric and other electric vehicles like the Nissan Leaf and Chevy Volt.

County Commissioners even discussed funding a car-charging program of their own, but decided it was best to allow the private sector to handle it rather than using tax-payer dollars to benefit only a few of the county.

Bradenton will charge between $1 and $2 per hour, a nominal fee, to cover the costs to the city. The stations will be connected to an online network so drivers can find them via GPS or their smartphones.
Aside from the Ford Focus Electric and other electric vehicles, the charging stations will be able to charge electric golf carts and electric motorcycles.

There are a few charging stations already operating in the area such as the 2 free stations at Firkins Nissan.

It's pretty much every day - just wait until the Ford Focus Electric is available and see how many charging stations go up around the country/world!

The Nissan Leaf will be in Canada soon so there will be a ton of charging stations going in around the Vancouver area any day now.
Ford hasn't announced when the Ford Focus Electric will be available in Canada, but electric vehicles are coming soon!

Apparently charging stations are going in lickety-split in London too.

Ikea was the most popular public charge spot during the month of August - no Ford Focus Electric vehicles contributed to that obviously!

Lakewood Ranch in Florida is getting Ford Focus Electric charging stations installed as part of the ever expanding charging stations network. The equipment was provided by Charge Point America.

Lakewood Ranch claims that it is the largest green-certified master community in the state.

The charging stations will be free to charge with, and will be compatible with the Ford Focus Electric, Nissan Leaf, and other electric vehicles like golf carts and neighborhood electric vehicles.

For the Ford Focus Electric, Ford is suggesting/pushing/marketing a 220-volt home charging station developed jointly by Leviton for $1499
