My 2017 Ford Focus Electric has lost almost 50% of its range In the past month or two. I could reliably get about 97 miles on a full charge, but it’s down to around 50.

The battery is still under warranty. Is there any way to check if this degradation might be due to a battery defect or something that would make Ford obligated to fix or replace it?

I have the scanner and the iPhone app, but I’m not really sure what to look for.

Your battery is warranted to have 70% capacity at 8 years 100k. Even if you’re not throwing a code(which you will any moment) your battery is covered. You need to have it in to a dealer so you can start a buyback request from Ford itself to give you more options. Ford will buyback your car or they will fix it. It just take time….The day you take it to the dealer contact Ford customer service and open a buy back request with that dept. The dealer doesn’t make the decisions on these cars it is all handled by the main office…
