Hi, last september I was waiting for a fast charge with the radio on, and when finally was my turn the FFE 2017 died completely, problem was the 12 volts battery and service company replaced on the spot. With a fresh battery I finally tried the fast charge but blinking errors lights showed. When finally back at home I connected to Forscan (not very versed in the app but at least know how to navigate it) and it showed errors P0D98:00-28, P0D94:00-68 and P0E68:00-28. I was recommended by a mechanic friend to clear the codes and try again as a faulty 12v can cause many malfunctions. I give a quick try to the fast charge and it worked for 5 minutes and then I disconnected with the console button as normal.
For my 60K dealership maintenance checkup I asked to verify there were no problems with the DC charge. Couple of days later when the car was back dealer said everything was fine, I tested the fast charge on the way back and then again the light errors jumped in. Going back to the workshop the guy said they only tested the AC and was working fine so assumed DC was ok too. They asked me more time to deep diagnose the problem and keep the car by about a month. After this they quote me with a new GFM2 and wiring harness for $3000 not covered by warranty.
Looking in the forum I found there's a known problem with the servo solenoid locking the DC port but also the chance to be a firmware issue in the GFM2, then I purchased the shop manual from Ford.
The manual also advice to delete the codes and cycle the code diagnosis if codes reappear there's some command can trigger the pin to test if it's ok or not.
Does anybody know if this command can be trigger from Forscan and would be the best was to diagnose the real fault as I totally mistrust the dealer knowledge?
