Dealership called about my warranty replacement battery

Took my 2017 FFE to a local dealership in early December because my battery range had dropped somewhat suddenly to about 50 miles on a full charge. Just got a call yesterday that the replacement battery arrived and they hope to have the installation complete by the end of next week. It’s all under warranty.

I kind of wish I would have pursued a buyback, because now I have to sell the car on my own. I didn’t pursue it because I fully expected them to just offer it. Lesson learned.

That's good news for you. In the past, it was like pulling teeth to get anything done by the dealer or Ford themselves. However, I am sorry that it wasn't the solution you wished. To look on the bright side, you can sell the car with the very good news that it has a new battery.

Yeah, you can probably sell it with a new battery for more than they would have offered on buy back

Carmax quoted me $6000 for mine a couple months ago, if you're just looking to get something for it without a lot of effort. With a new battery, I'd think you could get more than that.

So….in this case of a 2017 FFE, “not much more” warranty?!

When Ford Motor Company pays for a warranty repair, the part replaced is covered under the applicable Service Part Warranty (12 months/ 12,000 miles) or the remaining portion of the factory warranty, whichever is GREATER. So, you would have at least 12 months/ 12,000 miles on a replacement High Voltage Battery.

You can ask the Ford dealer making the repairs to confirm the SPW coverage period if you'd like. The information can be found in section 3.8.00 Service Parts Warranty Coverage of the Ford Warranty & Policy Manual.
