Alas, it's time for new tires. I have never been happy with the stock Michelin Energy Saver A/S', especially in the wet, and figure it's time to upgrade before the rainy season. I'd like something that's better in wet conditions for sure. Does anybody have any recommendations for FFE replacement tires? Has anybody found a reasonably well performing, quiet tire that doesn't have a huge impact on range? Any that I should avoid? There's so much choice that quite frankly I'm experiencing analysis paralysis. At the moment I'm considering Pirelli P7 AS Plus 3 or maybe Continental Trucontact Tour, but i've not settled on anything yet. I welcome your tire thoughts and experiences. Thanks.

I put some Pirelli P6's on mine about 4 years ago. I paid about $600 on sale from tire rack including mounting and balancing. They now have 40k miles on them and still look great. They ride better and are quieter than the original Michelin tires that only lasted 35k miles. As for handling, it was not worse, but I cannot really speak there as I drive very conservatively. Never once have I squealed around a corner or found the edge. There was no noticeable change in range.

I went with the Yokohoma YK520 and didn't see much of a range hit. It actually improved, probably because of the fresh tread having lower rolling resistance. The EnergySaver felt dangerous.
